But who can tell which micro portable wireless speaker is a top notch in performance, design, and connectivity features? We can. With all this piles of micro portable wireless speakers offered in the market, we found one that can suit with your taste for excellent performance, design, and connectivity. It belongs to one of the leading audio electronics companies, JBL. This is the JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker.
The JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker is a compact, small-sized, micro portable wireless speaker that is really portable, has impressive sound quality for its size, simple yet good-looking design, and many other features that’s perfect for its build and price point. This JBL speaker is also a great companion in your daily lifestyle and pastime of listening to sound from your music and videos anytime and anywhere you want.
JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker – Performance
At an ultra-portable, compact, and smaller size, what would be the performance of the JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker?
For its size, the JBL Micro has impressive and decent sound quality. Since it has a size that would really fit the palm of our hands, we haven’t expected it to produce the sound quality that bigger portable wireless speakers like the UE Boom or the Fugoo Style would actually produce. Yet considering the size of the JBL Micro, it can really perform well and catch up with a sound quality that is already clear, crisp, and clean. We tested this by connecting it to our Bluetooth-enabled laptop (and placing it near to us) while listening to the tracks of Calvin Harris and we really enjoyed it. This portable speaker is great at midrange so the sound that it delivers is pretty striking as well.
By the way, the JBL Micro is built with a bass port. We did test the JBL Micro’s bass performance. The bass was strong as we played some bass-intensive tracks. Considering its small size, the bass that comes out from it is good. At midlevel of volume, the sound is still clear with a bass that respond really well. Take note though to not increase its volume to the maximum because the sound and bass would distort.
The JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can power it up for up to 5 hours of playtime (which is already good for compact, smaller portable wireless speakers). It can be recharged with an included standard micro-USB cable.
JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker – Design
This JBL speaker is pretty simple when it comes to design. It is also ultra-portable and lightweight (at 4.48 ounces only). As we mentioned, the JBL Micro is really small that it can actually fit in the palm of our hands.
Just like one of JBL speakers, the JBL Clip/Clip+, the JBL Micro is designed in a circular form. It is made of a combination of polycarbonate and metal that makes it more durable and also makes this portable wireless speaker look clean and good.
At the top/center, you will find its speaker grille as well as the LED light indicator inside it. At the side, the JBL Micro is built with certain functions such as the Power On/Off button, volume rocker, charging input, and the auxillary input (for daisy chaining or connecting multiple JBL Micro with each other to boost and enhance sound production). While at the bottom/back part, you will find it to have a rubber grip design (to ensure non-slip) and the 3.5mm cable that can be connected to different devices, to other JBL Micro, or to other portable speakers.
JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker – Connectivity
The JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speaker can be connected to devices, either wirelessly or through wired. It uses Bluetooth to connect to devices wirelessly but if you prefer wired connections, then there’s the 3.5mm cable ready for use.
Connecting the JBL Micro via Bluetooth was not that really hard. It was actually fast and smooth. All you need to do is turn on your device’s Bluetooth as well as the JBL Micro and let your device search and connect with it. As easy as that!
If you’re asking for speakerphone capability in the JBL Micro, the answer for that would be none. It doesn’t have any built-in microphone to enable wireless phone calls. But who would know if that would be included in the future developments of the JBL Micro Wireless Ultra-Portable Speakers, right?
