Sony SRSX11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker – Performance

Sony is very proud to offer the SRS-X11 because of the features it packs. One of them is its sound quality. When we got this product, we immediately took it out of the box and tested it with our favorite music.

For a compact and tiny cube it is built with, the Sony SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker has that kind of punch when it comes to its sound quality. The sound was pretty impressive and decent considering how small it is. Similar to the JBL Clip+ and Bose SoundLink Mini, the sound it delivers is as much as what you can get from average sized portable speakers.

We also love how the 10 watts of power affects the sound quality of the Sony SRS-X11 because it absolutely makes the sound very crisp, clear, and loud. Aside from that, the bass output was also pretty impressive. Again for its size, we did not expect that its bass is positively strong! Thanks to its dual passive radiators for it allowed it for a bigger sound and bass for a small size.

For the battery life, the Sony SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker works for up to 12 hours. That’s already enough for a music streaming in a day.

Sony SRSX11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker – Design

We certainly love how the Sony SRS-X11 is designed! We love that it is very compact and small, how it can be carried around anywhere without the hassle, that it has numerous eye-candy color options, how it feels, and how it has a loop to make portability an easy job.

The Sony SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker weighs 7.6 ounces only and measures 2.4 x 2.4 inches, forming a lightweight cube similar to the SoundPal Cube F1 5 Watt Bluetooth Speaker. If compared to a Rubik’s Cube, this Sony speaker is no doubt smaller. Just as we mentioned, we also love how this portable wireless speaker catches someone’s attention. In short, the Sony SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker is an eye-candy! Aside from the usual Black color, it also has other color options such as Blue, Pink, Red, and White.

The whole body is made of a combination of hard plastic and a soft to touch rubber (rubber is placed at both top and back parts). On three sides of the speaker is where the grille is found. On top of it is where the rubber feel is placed alongside the embedded Sony logo as well as four button controls for the Power (which also serves as Bluetooth Pairing button when pressed longer for a few seconds), Call Answer/End, and Volume Up and Down.

On the back part of the Sony SRS-X11 are where the ports and other features are found. This includes the Add button (which allows you to connect multiple SRS-X11 together and amplify sound), Reset button (which can be used when things don’t go the way it should work), 3.5mm input for wired connections, and the micro-USB port for charging purposes. On the bottom is where the light status indicators are also found which makes it look really good when it works on a surface.

To add more excitement in its use, Sony has added a silicon loop to make the SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker hang around with you anytime and anywhere you go.

One thing we looked for when it comes to its look and feel is the rugged, splashproof design. Nowadays, this feature is already included in most portable speakers out there due to the need for portability. As it is very portable and compact as it is (making it very perfect for any outdoor adventures), adding this kind of feature would absolutely make the Sony SRS-X11 rock out.

Sony SRSX11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker – Connectivity

Bluetooth, NFC, and 3.5mm input complete the connectivity options of the Sony SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker. We did not find any issues connecting our devices with this portable speaker.

Actually, we really appreciate how it easily pairs and connects with our smartphones, tablets, laptops, and MP3 Players. For the Bluetooth range, Sony advertises it to have a 30 feet range. Testing its range so far does not have any problems. Also, NFC is added to this Sony speaker which adds more to its value because nowadays, NFC are very much used to conveniently connect devices to other devices, just like a portable wireless speaker.

Lastly, the Sony SRS-X11 Ultra-Portable Bluetooth Speaker is built with a microphone which enables speakerphone capability. With this feature, you can now wirelessly make phone calls using the speaker without turning to your phones.
