Yes. We have greatly been impressed with what Sonos has offered to us with these past few years. As a true-blue audiophile, I really love Sonos’ audio products which mainly include a set of portable wireless speakers (Play:1, Play:3, Play:5) and home audio system (Playbar, Play:1, and SUB).
Now that Sonos has once again made more of what we love about them, we couldn’t wait to have the all-new Sonos Play:5 Wireless Speaker.
Compared from its predecessor, the new Sonos Play:5 Wireless Speaker is designed to be better-looking and more functional. It is made to be adaptable in your home, placing it anywhere be it at your table, your kitchen’s countertop, or at your bookshelf. Aside from that, this portable wireless speaker can be positioned and set up vertically or horizontally. The simplicity and elegance of the new Sonos Play:5 makes it a worthy addition to your modern living.
The Play:5 is built with six synchronized, custom drivers that adds to better sound performance and delivery. This wireless speaker by Sonos packs three woofers that create smooth mids and powerful lows as well as three tweeters that enable clean, crisp, and clear sound without having any distortions even if used at higher volume levels. The Sonos Play:5 Wireless Speaker measures 14 x 8 x 6 inches and weighs 14 pounds, thus still very portable for a wireless speaker of its kind.
Though it has a new, better look, it doesn’t change the way it works other Sonos speakers. Just like its predecessor, the Sonos Play:5 Wireless Speaker works seamlessly with other Sonos speakers via Wi-Fi connection. In addition to that, Sonos claims that this portable wireless speaker incorporates a design that allows for excellent wireless performance, without compromises. Not bad at all.
According to Sonos, Trueplay “fine tunes your Sonos speaker for a spot-on playback of what the artist recorded.” This means that with this kind of technology, your Sonos speaker can easily adapt to the environment it is in, adjusting how the sound is delivered right to us, and making it sound and feel more improved and detailed. Trueplay also makes the music coming from the Sonos speakers to be independent thus creating greater sounds in every room of our home. According to CEO John MacFarlane, “Trueplay is a revolutionary system that gives music lovers confidence that they’re hearing what their favorite artists labored to produce, independent of the room’s acoustics and speaker location.”
So how can we use it? Using the Sonos app installed in our iPhone or iPad, Trueplay uses the device’s microphone to analyze the special tone emitted by the Sonos speaker and measure the ambient noise, acoustics, and the sound that surrounds every surface, objects, and elements in any given room. After that, Sonos fine tunes and optimizes the performance of the wireless speaker so that it can deliver at its best.
Trueplay will be available on all Sonos speakers (Play:1, Play:3, and Play:5) via an update soon.
